Academy-Plus is geared for veteran
chamber executives, including those that have
graduated from Academy and the U.S. Chamber's
Institute program.
Academy-Plus will include two three-hour
workshops on topics beyond the usual
curriculum presented at chamber association
conferences. The workshops will be held on
Monday afternoon, August 3rd and Tuesday
morning, August 4th at the offices of the
California Chamber of Commerce in Sacramento CA.

If so, this year’s Academy-Plus program may be
just what you need.
The Academy-Plus program is presented for the
continuous learning for veteran Chamber chief
executive officers and Academy and Institute
graduates looking for “what’s next.”
This year’s programming, held in conjunction
with the association’s three-year Academy
program, will be informative and stimulating and
may even challenge long-established notions of
the normalcy in organization management.
The Monday afternoon session on August 3rd
will feature William Arruda, President of
Reach Personal Branding. His session is
titled "Developing Your Own Personal Brand."
In this day of celebrity brands and branded
cities, it is not only becoming common, it’s
essential, for senior executives to build and
communicate
their personal brands to expand both
individual and corporate success. In this
presentation, William illustrates how executives
can make an indelible mark on the organizations
they lead while increasing corporate brand value
inside and outside the organization. Leaders who
align their values with the organization and
capitalize on their
strengths increase their fulfillment while
driving greater value for the business.
The Tuesday morning session on August 4th
will feature Barry Moltz, author of
"Bounce, Failure, Resiliency and Confidence for
Your Next Great Success." Economic cycles
come and go. We have been here before and
survived. Cheer the good times with parties,
awards and trophies. Mourn the bad times but then
let go. Barry, who’s “crazy
about business and insane for
success, ”demonstrates that developing the
resiliency
to “bounce” through these cycles of good and bad
times determines who ultimately will
succeed. Using real life business examples, he
shows that with true business confidence, what
actions we can take to face our fears, let go of
shame and failures, be better risk takers, and
define our own brand of success.
The cost for the Academy-Plus program – 2
three-hour workshops, breaks and the Academy
evening event at the Pyramid Alehouse
- is $300 per person.
Space is limited and expectations are that this
year’s Academy-Plus program will be a sellout.
WACE members that are graduates of Academy, have
been a CEO for five or more years or have
graduated from the US Chamber Institute program
are invited to participate in Academy-Plus.
