This past year there were some challenges in these uncertain economic times. Yet his goals were to build a new Image and Brand for the Chamber, building a new role of an active Political Arena and strengthen the Chambers financial situation.
He went to work, bringing the event growth in 2012 to a 58% increase and 17% more in 2013. Membership growth increase 9.3%. He solidifies the Chambers standing in the community as the Voice for Business, by convincing stakeholder groups to tackle business concerns, leading coalitions targeting solution, initiating Political Action programs, such as the Candidate Academy, and jobs-creating programs.
He worked to create a partnership with their downtown businesses to promote economic vitality through commute options in downtown. The Spacework’s transitioned under the Chambers umbrella, bringing Creative Enterprise, Special Project Residencies and Artscapes (Art Installation). They started the Young Entrepreneur Academy, which is a year-long after school program teaching local high students how to start and run their own businesses. The Chamber grew this year from 1283 to 1490 members, making it the second largest Chamber in the state of Washington.
The Chambers legislative agenda was 90% successful, and they are proud of being a part of the team that brought over a $100 million worth of projects throughout the County."
