In memory of Russell E.
Pettit, a veteran of 40 years in chamber of
commerce management, who unselfishly served his
community and fellow executives in the highest
professional standards. This award is presented
to a chief executive officer or department head
in recognition of outstanding contributions for
encouraging new executives to enter the
profession and in assisting those in the field
to attain higher professional standards and
capabilities.
Dave
Maurer, ACE, president/CEO of the Prescott AZ
Chamber of Commerce, is the recipient of the
2007 W.A.C.E. Pettit Memorial Award.
Maurer has assisted many chamber executives in
Arizona navigate through tough issues and he has
facilitated many local chamber planning sessions
over the years helping to elevate the level of
excellence in numerous chambers.
He
is highly respected and is a designated mentor
for W.A.C.E. and the Arizona Chamber Executives
and contributes regularly to the educational
efforts provided by W.A.C.E.
One
chamber executive who has benefited from Dave's
mentoring writes, "Always the consummate
professional and leader, Dave is unselfishly
more than willing to share his knowledge,
insight and experience with anyone who asks,
especially those new to the chamber profession.
He does this in a very supportive, thought
provoking manner and never takes the superior
attitude."
