There is something unique about the way chamber professionals come together, and the shared understanding of the weight—and the reward—of community leadership. As we wrap up the 2026 W.A.C.E. Conference, the numbers offer a clear picture of an industry that is both deeply rooted and actively evolving. Here is a look at the data that defined our time together and what it says about where we are headed. A Broad Regional Footprint The strength of W.A.C.E. has always been its geographic diversity, and this year was no exception. We saw 356 attendees join us from 223 unique organizations. This wasn’t just a local gathering; it was a truly regional summit with representation spanning nine different states. From the coastal communities of Alaska and Washington to the mountain towns of Colorado and the growing metros of Arizona and New Mexico, the collective expertise in the room represented the full spectrum of the Western economy. The Mix of Experience and Innovation Perhaps the most telling statistic from this year is the balance between established leadership and the rising professionals within our ranks.
A Curriculum for the "Whole Professional" The 2026 programming was intentionally designed to move beyond the traditional "how-to" of chamber management. With 70 total sessions, we focused on three distinct pillars to ensure our attendees left better equipped to handle both their roles and their personal well-being.
Moving the Needle
As we head back to our home communities, it’s worth reflecting on the shared momentum we’ve built. The data tells us that W.A.C.E. is a professional home for a diverse, cross-generational group of leaders who aren't afraid to tackle the hard questions. This year's conference reinforced the infrastructure that supports our local businesses. The work of a chamber professional is often a solo endeavor, but if our week together in Tucson showed us anything, it’s that none of us are doing this alone. We look forward to seeing how the strategies discussed this week translate into tangible results in your communities over the coming year.

Kudos to W.A.C.E. leadership, staff and volunteers for a superbly executed 2026 conference! The mix of learning, networking and experiential (or should I say mind, chamber and soul!) activities was inspiring. The energy level was consistently high. Looking forward to next year's conference in my "back yard" of Denver!
