As a WACE member, your Chamber has access to a wide range of tools and resources designed to help you elevate the impact your Chamber has in your community. One of the services offered by WACE is the Chamber Performance Survey. This tool gives you the chance to benchmark your members’ priorities and their perception of your impact against the responses from hundreds of Chambers around the West. The survey focuses on the key areas of performance identified by WACE as essential to the successful operation of a Chamber. The survey asks your members how important each of these focus areas is to them, and how well they perceive the Chamber doing in that area. While most of the survey is standardized to allow for benchmarking comparison with the full database of business responses, there are opportunities for you to customize a few questions to test the value of your specific programs and services, and to get a clearer demographic picture of your membership.
Many Chambers are currently working on their programs of work for 2025; having direct feedback from your members on what is important to them is a great place to start that planning effort. Often, Chambers who complete the survey learn that they are doing well in areas they may not have thought they were, and often they learn that there are areas where members either think they can do better – or where members are just unsure about what the Chamber is doing in that area. How Does It Work Chambers who wish to have the Chamber Performance Survey run should reach out to Glenn Morris ([email protected]) to reserve a time slot. Once the questionnaire is completed to meet your Chamber’s needs, you provide WACE with an email roster of member contacts and we send the survey on your behalf. This allows us to track responses, encourage those who haven’t responded to do so, and provides a layer of anonymity that may encourage members to answer more transparently. Typically, it takes 2-3 weeks to gather sufficient responses to the survey to allow for meaningful analysis, compile the results, and prepare a customized powerpoint presentation for you to share with your team and volunteer leadership.
