November Snapshot Survey Results: Chamber Issues & Outlook

Our latest member survey reveals a complex picture of our business environment. While over half of our members (51%) still describe their local business environment as "Friendly," there is a significant undercurrent of concern regarding the direction of the state and nation.

Top Concerns: The Housing & Workforce Crisis
The data shows a clear consensus on the biggest hurdles facing our local economy. Housing affordability and availability is the #1 concern, cited by 21% of respondents. This is closely followed by Workforce challenges (16%), illustrating a direct link between the lack of housing and the difficulty of finding and retaining talent.

Other key concerns: Healthcare (8%), Homelessness (8%), and Inflation (7%) round out the top five.

Sentiment: Local Optimism vs. External Pessimism
There is a stark contrast between how members view their community versus the broader political and economic landscape:

• The Local View: 51% view their community as "Friendly" to business.
• The State View: 58% feel their state is heading in the "Wrong Direction."
• The National View: Pessimism spikes here, with 76% of members stating the nation is heading in the "Wrong Direction."
