The Board’s Executive Committee recently approved the appointment of the following individuals to serve as members of the 2024 Nominating Committee:
The W.A.C.E. Bylaws (Article VI – Elections and Appointments) charge the Nominating Committee with two responsibilities, e.g. recommending a slate of candidates to serve on the W.A.C.E. Board of Directors, and nominating a slate of officers to lead the Board during the next fiscal year. “The W.A.C.E. Board has been essential as our association has begun our second century,” said president & CEO Glenn Morris. “As we move forward, having a board that is representative of our membership, with a wide range of experiences and perspectives will allow us to align our programs and services to ensure continued relevance and value.”
The Nominating Committee will meet over the next several weeks to determine how many seats are open on the Board, develop a list of qualified candidates, and ultimately to recommend a slate of candidates. Chief Staff Officers of Chambers that are members in good standing of W.A.C.E. are eligible to serve on the Board. Board members are elected to terms of three years and may serve two consecutive terms. Individuals who are interested in being considered for appointment to the Board should notify both Kami Welch ([email protected]) and Glenn Morris ([email protected]) as soon as possible. The Nominating Committee will share it’s recommended slate of Board candidates to the membership during the first week of December. Members may then make additional nominations should they disagree with the committee’s slate. In the event that no additional nominations are received, the recommended slate will be approved by voice vote during the Business Meeting at the Annual Conference.
