The W.A.C.E. Board of Directors has appointed two Chamber CEOs, Angie Anderson and Jill Lagan, to complete terms left open due to the resignations of Jake Mangus and Glenn Morris. Angie Anderson, President & CEO of the Glenwood Springs Chamber & Resort Association, and Jill Lagan, President & CEO of the Boulder City Chamber, were officially appointed at the Board’s May 2024 meeting. W.A.C.E. CEO Glenn Morris said, “I’m thrilled to have both Angie and Jill as members of the Board. The Board’s executive committee wanted to bring both new perspectives and W.A.C.E experience to the table and these appointments do exactly that.” “Through the appointment of both Angie and Jill, the W.A.C.E. Board of Directors continues its commitment of representing our members from states across the Western US," said W.A.C.E. Board Chair Whitney Diver-McEvoy. Angie Anderson President & CEO at the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association (GSCRA) Angie Anderson is the President & CEO at the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association (GSCRA). She has been with the organization for 16 years. Anderson is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management (IOM), Roaring Fork Leadership, El Pomar’s Nonprofit Executive Leadership Program (NELP) and Western Association of Chambe Executives (W.A.C.E.) Academy. She is the current chair of the Mountain Chamber Alliance (MCA), past chair of the Colorado Chamber Alliance Board of Directors and is participating in the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) Fellowship for Economic Mobility. Anderson also serves on Colorado Mountain College’s Roaring Fork Campus Community Advisory Board and on the steering committee for Prosper Glenwood. She has previously served on the Community Relations Committee of the Valley View Hospital Foundation, the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts Board of Directors and is a past member of the Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE) Emerging Leaders Advisory Council. Prior to joining the GSCRA team, Anderson was a project manager at Colorado Interactive, a web development company located in Denver that manages the state website Colorado.gov. Before that she worked for the Statewide Internet Portal Authority and the Gregg Rippy for U.S. Congress campaign. She earned her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Organization Management from Colorado State University. Angie and her husband, Scott, have a 9-year-old daughter named Paige. Jill Rowland-Lagan C.E.O., Boulder City Chamber of Commerce Jill Rowland-Lagan, CEO of the Boulder City, Nevada Chamber of Commerce is a native Nevadan, whose family settled in Boulder City in 1947. Her ties to the community are strong and her love of the City encourage her daily to serve it well. Having started her first business at sixteen, she has had an affinity for the business world as an entrepreneur. After attending Brigham Young University, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and Phillips Junior College, court stenography became her trade along with two businesses she founded, operated and sold. She soon found herself in Downtown Las Vegas working in Pretrial at the Clark County Detention Center and then on to the District Attorney’s office as a locate specialist and process server in the Child Support Division. The opportunity presented itself to become more involved in the family business and drove her into the management world of marine operations on Lake Mead and at a coffee roasting plant in Henderson. Around that same time, a wedding and special event planning business fell into her lap and she had the opportunity to enjoy it for nearly seven years. Selling of the family business and her wedding business allowed her the time to accept the position of CEO at the Boulder City Chamber, where she has gratefully served for over 22 years. She has a wonderfully supportive husband that is a retired police officer in Las Vegas and two beautiful and talented teenage daughters. Jill looks to con tinue her commitment to the community she loves and is excited for her future.
