Whitney Diver McEvoy Shares Board Priorities

Hello my fellow W.A.C.E. Members! It was so wonderful seeing many of you at our annual Conference in February. I hope you have begun to implement some of the inspirational nuggets you learned. One of my favorite reminders from Conference was “chambers are ideally situated to problem solve in our community.” A great reminder as we embark on all that 2024 has to offer. A big congratulations to Patrick Ellis, Murrieta/Wildomar (CA) Chamber, Conference Chair and the Conference Committee for putting together a tremendous event. ​

Speaking of what 2024 has to offer, it is a year of change and excitement for W.A.C.E. In mid-February, the Board of Directors of W.A.C.E. proudly announced the appointment of Glenn Morris as our organization's first President & CEO. With his extensive background in both chamber and association leadership, Glenn brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to advancing the mission of W.A.C.E. We are thrilled to have Glenn lead W.A.C.E. as we celebrate our 100-year anniversary. 
Program Priorities: 

• Kami Welch, ACE, Arvada (CO) Chamber will serve as Chair Elect and finish leading the Transition Task Force as our new employee has been hired. 
• Colin Diaz, ACE, IOM, Tempe (AZ) Chamber is putting together an informative Workshop in Austin, TX on May 16, stay tuned for more information. 
• Lorraine Clarno, ACE, Discover Kalispell (MT) Chamber and Mike Neal, CCE, CDE, Tulsa Regional (TX) Chamber will together lead the W.A.C.E. Membership initiative to reach more chambers with our programs and services. 
• Wendy Laros, Kona-Kohala (HI) Chamber will lead and develop the content for Academy Plus this year, taking place in August during Academy.
• Zeb Welborn, ACE, Chino (CA) Chamber is planning a dynamic and informative Fall Webinar Series, taking place September – December.

It is an honor to serve as your Board Chair, during this exciting time for our organization. My door is always open to you. I look forward to continuing to serve and support our W.A.C.E. members over the next year. Hope to see you in Austin, TX in May!
